Menopause At Work
OK, we know menopause is a natural part of life, but in the workplace, it can sometimes feel like you’re navigating it alone. I know this only too well. Even though I have other female colleagues, it is not something we talk about openly, only a close few who I call friends I feel able to confide in. It's not a surprise either, to know they feel exactly the same.
Fatigue, brain fog, or sudden changes in temperature (hot flushes), can make even the most professional doubt herself. But here's the truth - you're capable, experienced and resilient. With the right tools and small adjustments, you can feel more comfortable, confident and in control at work. For example, get yourself one of those portable battery operated fans (like the one in the picture) and keep it at your desk or work area. It can easily fit into a pocket so you can carry it around to use whenever it's needed!
I have developed a small guide containing hints and tips for managing your menopause symptoms whilst at work. I know it can be challenging, but these tips I use on a regular basis and they have helped me enormously.
